Lucky me, as I got to have a great conversation with Tim Holtz at a retailer's event today and he gave me a tip with Alcohol Inks and chipboard or grungeboard that I thought I should pass on to you:
Using Metallic paint dabbers paint your chipboard or grungeboard and then use alcohol inks over top of that.  The metallic (yes it does need to be metallic to work) gives it a finish that allows the vibrancy of the alcohol inks to show!  Give it a try for a truly stunning look.
